 International Day of Charity : Is celebrated on September 5 to commemorate the day of passing away of great missionary Mother Teresa.

The International Day of Charity is a special day where we learn about helping others and doing good things. People from all over the world come together to volunteer and give money to help people who need it. We celebrate this day on September 5th because it is the day that Mother Teresa, a very kind and helpful person, passed away. She got a special award called the Nobel Peace Prize for all the good things she did to help people in need.Mother Teresa was a famous nun and helper. She was born in 1910 and went to India in 1928. She wanted to help people who had no money or resources.

In 1948, she became a citizen of India and started a group called Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata (Calcutta) in 1950. This group became well-known for helping poor and sick people in the city. For more than 45 years, Mother Teresa helped people who were poor, sick, and didn't have parents. She also helped people who were dying. She started a group called the Missionaries of Charity, and they helped people in India and other countries. They made places where people who were very poor or didn't have a home could stay. Mother Teresa's work was very important and people all over the world liked what she did. She even won a big award called the Nobel Peace Prize. Mother Teresa died when she was 87 years old on September 5th, 1997.
